your data stays on your device. we don't track you, we don't sell your data, and we don't use analytics SDKs. the only things that touch our servers are feedback messages you choose to send and subscription lifecycle events from apple.
all your core data — check-ins, sobii, tough moments, game progress — is stored locally on your device using encrypted storage. this data is excluded from device backups and is never sent to our servers.
during setup, we ask for your birthday month and day (not year) so the app can celebrate with you. this is stored in the ios keychain on your device, encrypted and never sent to our servers.
we store your install date in the ios keychain to manage your free trial. this is a single date value, not personal information.
if you choose to send feedback through the app, your message is sent to our server and stored in a database. we do not collect your name, email, or any identifier with it. feedback messages are anonymous and not tied to your identity.
if you sign up for launch notifications on our website, we store your email address. we use it only to notify you about sobagotchi. we don't share it with anyone.
payments are handled entirely by apple through the app store. we never see your payment details. apple sends us subscription lifecycle events (like renewals and cancellations) that contain transaction identifiers but no personal information. we store these events to monitor service health.
we do not use any analytics SDKs. we do not track your usage, collect device identifiers, or share data with third parties. we do not use cookies on our website. apple provides us with aggregate, anonymous app store analytics that we cannot tie to individual users.
we do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone. the only third parties involved are apple (for subscriptions) and our infrastructure providers (for hosting and data storage).
uninstalling sobagotchi removes all your on-device data. feedback messages are anonymous and cannot be linked back to you. to manage or cancel your subscription, go to settings > apple id > subscriptions on your device.
sobagotchi is not intended for children under 13. we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
